NZ Housing Market’s Strong Covid Recovery Continues
House sales and listings continue their rapid rebound after the 2020 Lockdowns, with listings and sales climbing to pre-Covid Levels, and beyond.
The latest data shows the total number of houses sold in September came close to 8,000, compared to January, when sales were closer to 5,500.
Total listings have recovered from the August dip (the Auckland Lockdown) to track above 2019 listings, reaching pre-Covid levels before the nationwide March Lockdown began.
No matter which way you look at it, the property market is tracking hot, and bouncing back quick.
This data backs up the theory that subsequent lockdowns appear to have less of an effect on house listing and sales, and that the worst for the property market may be over, particularly if the Government can contain Covid-19 at the border and confidence continues to build in the economy.
